I was invited to a Christmas party a few weeks ago. Parties are usually very enjoyable and the actual party was indeed, very enjoyable.  However, one aspect of the party was something I could do without but fortunately I don't have to deal with it very much.

(how is THAT for an introduction?)

So, I was invited to a Christmas party in San Bernardino.  The most direct route from Santa Barbara to San Bernardino is straight through the heart of LA, one of the worlds largest cities. One of my good friends described LA, as the city I love to hate.
Our route was 162 miles and it took 5 1/2 hours.  In the same amount of time, I could have been clear up to San Francisco, or even Tijuana if I wanted to risk getting shot at by a drug cartel.

As I was creeping along the freeways of LA, it became very clear that we few who have the privilege of living in the American Riviera, alongsde Leadbetter Beach and some of the best surf breaks in the world like Rincon, are blessed.  Santa Barbara is the best place to live.  We have it all and what little traffic we do have is a minor glitch when you compare it to LA.  So, Thank you Santa Barbara and all the people that have worked hard to make it what it is.  I am a fan.

One thing that makes Santa Barbara great are businesses like SB Shop and Delivery.  I know that if I had my druthers, I would never go to the grocery store for food. I would rather that someone else did the shopping for me.  I know this is a shameless plug for my own business but the reality is we truly do live in a wonderful place.  I'd rather be doing something I loved, then fighting for a parking space at Five Points.  So Santa Barbara, let US do the shopping for you this holiday season and go do the things that truly make you happy.

God Bless
